The frieze is composed by 108 paintings of oil on canvaces 8x8 inches large.
I started this project after the declined votation about the naturalisation of second and third generations born in Switzerland. There has been much publicity concerning the representations of "foreign" faces in the streets and I had the idea to face to face the viewer with my 2.70 meters piece. I painted this portrait square one after another separately, without really thinking about the final outcome of all. For me, each painting was an abstract landscape and my goal was to reach the hyper-realism while making an abstract painting.
